So, you want to change the Brain Drain, huh? Well, here's how: First, you have to archive the old Brain Drain: 1. Open "bdarchive.html" in an editor 2. Open the Earthguide home page, "index.html", in an editor 3. Open the old Brain Drain answer page in an editor. You can find out where this is by linking to it from the home page. 4. On the archive page, take the set of table cells in the archive template (located in the comments at the top of the page), and copy it to the page, on top of the last archived brain drain. 5. Copy the question from the home page, and put it on the archive page, where it says, "Put question here." 6. Take the code for the images and put them in the section that says, "Put Images here." 7. Take the URL for the answer page and put it where it says, "Put answer page's URL here." You are now done changing the Archives Page. 8. On the Answer Page for the old Brain Drain, change the link at the bottom of the page that says, "Back to Earthguide" to say "Back to Brain Drain Archive." Change the URL to "../bdarchive.html". You are now done changing the old answer page. Now that the old Brain Drain has been archived, you can add the new one: 1. "index.html" should still be open. 2. Create the file for the answer page. Use one of the old pages as your guide. The naming convention for answer pages is "bdyyquarter.html", where yy is the last 2 digits of the year. Thus, the answer page for Spring 2001 would be "bd01spring.html".This file goes in the appropriate directory FOR THAT ACADEMIC YEAR, not the calender year. So, "bd01spring.html would go in the "2000_2001" folder. IF IT IS FALL QUARTER: you will need to make a new directory for that academic year. 3. Place all the images that the answer page uses, and put them in the same directory as the answer page. 4. Change the question on the main page. 5. Change the image tags on the main page. Any images used on the main page, but not on the answer page, should also go in the same directory as the answer page. 6. MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE QUARTER THAT THE MAIN PAGE SAYS. If you are changing the question from Spring 2001 to Fall 2001, make sure that it says "Quarterly Brain Drain, Fall 2001" and not "Quarterly Brain Drain, Spring 2001". And now you're done!
