Jellyfish

Lifecycle- Jellyfish are Cnidarians. The males and females both produce the sperm and the egg. When the egg is let out, it finds a hard place to stay. The eggs make a slipper shape form which helps them swim and find a hard surface. Once the egg hatches it becomes a polyp. The eggs are able to clone themselves. When that happens the eggs make tiny little jellyfish. The tiny jellyfish start growing and developing tentacles and oral arms.

What are Jellyfish?-Jellyfish are made up of about 95% water, 3-4% salts and 1-2% protein. Jellyfish do not have eyes, bones, a heart and a brain. The jellyfish have nerve cells that help them get around. These nerve cells tell them whether they are going up or down, they also help them get their food. Jellyfish get their food in a special way. They use stinging cells to paralyze their prey. They use the mouth to eat . If a jellyfish has a tentacle that is damaged, they can regenerate it. In order for the jellyfish to regenerate they need to be healthy.

Even if jellyfish are dead, the stinging cells can still sting people and animals. This only happens if the tentacles are moist. Jellyfish paralyze their food like this:
