Fish species have changed dramatically in the reefs along the shore near Los Angeles since 1976-1977 due to water temperatures. The proportion of cold-water northern fish species (represented here by the greenspotted rockfish) has dropped while the proportion of southern warm-water fish species (represented here by Garibaldi) has increased dramatically.
